A Rochester man was taken into custody after deputies discovered a loaded handgun during a traffic stop on Interstate 490, according to the Ontario County Sheriff’s Office.
The stop occurred on Wednesday.
Authorities identified the man as 53-year-old Beneto Bent, who was found to be operating a vehicle with both a suspended license and suspended registration.
Deputies said Bent was also in possession of a loaded handgun and two 15-round magazines. He was charged with second- and third-degree criminal possession of a weapon, aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle and operating with a suspended registration.
Bent was taken into custody and is expected to answer the charges in court at a later date.
