Nearly 20 local projects are competing for about $1 million in city grant funding this year, according to The Ithaca Voice.
The Ithaca Urban Renewal Agency will hold public hearings March 19 and March 26 before deciding how to distribute federal housing and community development funds. Organizations submitted 19 applications totaling more than $1.64 million for housing, job training, infrastructure, and community services.
Many proposals focus on housing support, including affordable apartment projects, renovations, rent assistance, and security deposit programs. Other requests fund job training, transportation access, and services aimed at helping low- and moderate-income residents.
