Drunk driving arrest follows late-night traffic stop in Waterloo

Deputies arrested a Waterloo woman after a late-night traffic stop on State Route 5 and 20.

Cassidy M. O’Malley, 32, of Waterloo, faces charges of driving while intoxicated, a misdemeanor, and failure to keep right, a violation. The arrest happened around 11:33 p.m. March 10 in the Town of Waterloo.

Seneca County Sheriff Tim Thompson said deputies stopped the vehicle after observing it swerving on the roadway.

Deputies conducted a DWI investigation during the stop and took O’Malley into custody.

Authorities transported her to the Seneca County Law Enforcement Center, where the Sheriff’s Office Corrections Division processed her.

O’Malley later received an appearance ticket and was released. She is scheduled to answer the charges in court at a later date.
