Fire crews extinguished a house fire on Genesee Street in Cayuga County late Wednesday afternoon.
Cayuga, Aurelius and Auburn fire departments, along with Auburn City Ambulance, responded to the scene, according to Cayuga/Seneca Fire Wire.
Smoke was visible from the outside of the structure as crews arrived.
Firefighters advanced hose lines to the second floor, where the fire was located.
Crews placed water on the fire and brought it under control, with Auburn command unit C3 taking command.
The fire was reported out about an hour after first responders arrived, with units remaining on scene.
