Drug possession charge follows Seneca Falls traffic stop

A routine traffic stop in Seneca Falls led to a drug possession charge late Thursday night.

Philip J. Congilaro, of Geneva, was arrested during the stop, according to the Seneca Falls Police Department.

Police said the stop happened around 9:18 p.m. on March 6. During the investigation, officers reported finding Congilaro in possession of an illicit drug.

Congilaro was charged with seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, a misdemeanor.

He was processed at the Seneca Falls Police Department and released with an appearance ticket for the charge.

After processing, police transported Congilaro to the Seneca County Correctional Facility on an unrelated warrant for violating his parole.
