FedEx closing Ithaca ship center

Ithaca’s longtime FedEx Ship Center near the airport will shut down in June as the company restructures its delivery network, according to 14850 Today.

FedEx confirmed the Warren Road facility will close under its “FedEx Network 2.0” plan to streamline operations. The Ithaca site is one of several Central and Northern New York locations slated to close, including facilities in Elmira, Syracuse, Binghamton, Buffalo, Conklin, Plattsburgh, Watertown, and Utica.

The company hasn’t said what shipping options will remain for Tompkins County customers. Ithaca still has FedEx OnSite kiosks at Walgreens stores, drop boxes, and a FedEx Office location, but officials haven’t confirmed whether those will stay.
