Thompson Health honors six employees

Six employees at UR Medicine Thompson Health have received the organization’s Service Excellence Award for the fourth quarter of 2025.

The quarterly recognition highlights staff members who receive compliments from patients, families, or coworkers.


Among those honored was Shannon Broderick of Canandaigua, a registered nurse in the hospital’s Ambulatory Procedures Center. A surgical patient praised her confidence and communication during care.

Jamie Detota of Canandaigua, a social worker at the M.M. Ewing Continuing Care Center, was recognized after a coworker highlighted her efforts to bring joy to residents, including accompanying them to the gift shop and playing piano.

Re’Shel Freeman of Rochester, a registered nurse on the hospital’s 2 West unit, received recognition after a patient’s family member praised her compassion and clinical expertise while caring for their mother.

Trevor Harris of Marcellus, a patient care technician on the hospital’s 3 West unit, was nominated by a coworker who cited his reliability and willingness to help with patient care tasks.

Kathy Trainor of Canandaigua, a registered nurse on 3 West, was honored after a patient commended the extra time she spent explaining post-discharge care.

Chelsey Williams of Rexville in Steuben County, a radiology technologist, received the award following praise from a patient who described her as kind and professional during an exam.

Recipients receive points to use on the organization’s employee shopping site and are recognized in internal presentations and communications.
