The owner of the Sterling Renaissance Festival has been arrested again, this time on charges tied to an alleged attempted rape, according to The Citizen.
Doug Waterbury, 65, of Oswego was arrested Tuesday by New York State Police after an Oswego County grand jury indictment. Investigators said a victim contacted him about housing, but he instead drove them to an empty building, exposed himself and demanded a sex act. When the victim refused, police said he later offered money in exchange for dropping the complaint.
Waterbury now faces charges including attempted rape, patronizing a person for prostitution and attempted bribing a witness. He was released and is scheduled to appear in court April 27.
