A late-night traffic stop in Waterloo ended with a Port Byron man facing drunken driving charges after police reported erratic driving at an intersection.
George Brier, 51, was arrested around 10:24 p.m. on March 1, according to the Waterloo Police Department.
Police said officers stopped Brier’s vehicle after observing it stopped well into an intersection at a red light. Officers also reported that the vehicle moved from its lane unsafely.
During the stop, officers said Brier showed signs of intoxication.
Police determined Brier had a blood alcohol content of 0.14%, nearly twice the legal limit of 0.08%.
Brier was charged with Driving While Intoxicated and Driving While Intoxicated with a BAC greater than 0.08%.
Officers issued uniform traffic tickets for the offenses. Brier is scheduled to appear in the Town of Waterloo Court at a later date.
