Police arrested a man after deputies responded to a reported stabbing at an apartment complex in the Town of Geneva.
Corwin L. Coleman, 57, of Geneva, faces a first-degree assault charge following the early morning attack at 120 Genesis Way.
The Ontario County Sheriff’s Office received a 911 call at about 7:09 a.m. on Saturday reporting that someone had been stabbed multiple times.
Deputies said the suspect fled on foot before officers arrived.
Geneva Police later saw Coleman walk into a building in the town around 8:30 a.m. Deputies took him into custody at about 8:37 a.m., authorities said.
Coleman is currently on New York State parole for robbery.
Deputies transported him to the Ontario County Jail for CAP court. He is awaiting arraignment.
The victim was taken by Finger Lakes Ambulance to Strong Memorial Hospital and is listed in stable condition.
Investigators said the victim and Coleman know each other and described the stabbing as an isolated incident. Authorities plan to request an order of protection for the victim.
The Ontario County Sheriff’s Office investigated the case with assistance from the Geneva Police Department and New York State Police.
