Syracuse women’s lacrosse earned a 13-10 Atlantic Coast Conference victory over Louisville on Saturday afternoon at UofL Lacrosse Stadium, improving to 2-3 overall and 1-2 in conference play.
Molly Guzik led the Orange with a career-high four goals and one assist as nine different Syracuse players scored in the win. Alexa Vogelman added two goals, while Mackenzie Rich contributed two assists during a balanced offensive performance.

Syracuse’s defense played a key role, forcing 19 caused turnovers, the program’s highest single-game total since February 2019. Mackenzie Salentre, Coco Vandiver and Joely Caramelli each recorded four caused turnovers, while Emma Muchnick added three.
Louisville opened the scoring before Syracuse responded with a five-goal run to take control. Izzy Lahah started the surge with her first goal of the season, and the Orange capitalized on woman-up opportunities with goals from Guzik and Vogelman to build a 5-1 advantage. Louisville answered with four straight goals to tie the game late in the first half, but Bri Peters scored in the closing minutes to give Syracuse a 6-5 halftime lead.
After Louisville briefly tied the game early in the third quarter, Syracuse pulled away as Guzik scored twice during a decisive stretch. Additional goals from Mackenzie Borbi and Vogelman extended the lead entering the final period.
Louisville made a late push, but Syracuse responded with three goals in under five minutes to secure the victory.
Syracuse returns home Tuesday, March 3, hosting California at the JMA Wireless Dome for a 5 p.m. opening draw.
