Bird watchers will head out at dusk March 7 for an “Owl Prowl” in Seneca and Ontario counties.
The free program begins at 4 p.m. at the Seneca Meadows Education Center in Waterloo, where participants will gather before carpooling to several locations to look and listen for owls.
Organizers ask attendees to arrive by 3:45 p.m. at the education center, 1977 Route 414. Space is limited, and registration is required.
The late-winter outing will focus on birds, especially owls, and conservation efforts in the region. The event is open to all ages, including families and underserved communities.
The Seneca Meadows Education Center and the Montezuma Audubon Center are sponsoring the program.
Organizers said the trip will give participants a chance to learn more about owl behavior and habitat while exploring local birding sites.
