Local chefs and beverage makers will compete for bragging rights next month as the Kiwanis Club of Canandaigua hosts its 12th annual Chef & Sip Challenge.
The fundraiser runs Sunday, March 8, from 1 to 4 p.m. at Hotel Canandaigua, 205 Lakeshore Blvd.
Chefs and food vendors will offer sample-sized tastings, while local businesses pour wine, beer, spirits and other refreshments. Participants will compete for recognition in several categories.
Organizers say proceeds support the club’s community project fund. Past funding has helped pay for projects such as the Inclusion in Motion Playground, the annual Easter Egg Hunt at Canandaigua Elementary, scholarships and the Salvation Army Christmas Party.
The event will also feature dozens of silent auction items. Attendees can enter to win a seven-night vacation for four to Mexico, Orlando or Freeport.
Last year’s event raised more than $12,000, according to the club.
Advance tickets cost $40 per person or $70 per couple. Tickets at the door cost $45 per person or $80 per couple. Tickets are available online, through Kiwanis members or at either Canandaigua National Bank location.
