Bird walks to spotlight eagles, woodcocks

Bird watchers will have a chance to spot bald eagles and American woodcocks during a new series of guided walks at the Seneca Meadows Wetland Preserve.

The Seneca Meadows Education Center is launching the series March 5, with programs running through March 31.


The first walk begins at 4 p.m. Thursday, March 5. Participants will meet at the Seneca Meadows Education Center, 1977 Route 414 in Waterloo, before driving to the preserve at 1712 Black Brook Road in Seneca Falls.

Organizers said the program will focus on migration and breeding behavior of bald eagles and American woodcocks .

The event is free and open to all ages, including families and underserved communities. Registration is required.

The Seneca Meadows Education Center and the Montezuma Audubon Center are sponsoring the series.
