Fraudulent social media pages are posing as del Lago Resort & Casino, prompting a public warning from the Seneca County gaming destination.
Casino officials said they recently discovered impersonator accounts falsely claiming to represent the property and urged customers not to interact with them.
The resort said it is not affiliated with the fake pages and is working with Facebook and regulators to have the accounts removed.
Officials warned people not to register, deposit money or engage in any way with the fraudulent profiles.
“Please do NOT register, deposit money, or engage with these fraudulent pages,” the casino said in its alert.
The resort advised customers to make sure they are communicating only with its verified account. Any official communication will come from that verified page, according to the statement.
The casino also asked the public to report any suspicious pages or activity.
The warning included a reminder that guests must be 21 or older. Anyone struggling with problem gambling can call 877-8-HOPENY or text HOPENY (467369) for help.
The alert comes as businesses across the region continue to deal with scam accounts that mimic legitimate brands to collect personal information or money from unsuspecting users.
