Canandaigua firefighters rescue kitten from tall tree

A curious kitten sparked a “high-rise” rescue on Jefferson Avenue Thursday morning — and this time, the emergency had four paws and whiskers.

The City of Canandaigua Fire Department said “A” Shift, responded to the call after the kitten climbed high into a tree and couldn’t find its way back down.

Firefighters worked together in a safe and coordinated effort to reach the stranded feline. Crews used their ladder truck to access the tall tree and carefully brought the kitten back to the ground.

Relieved bystanders watched as firefighters reunited the furry adventurer with its owners.

The department shared the story on social media, saying they are always proud to serve the community — “whether it’s two legs or four.”
