Penn Yan man jailed again for violating order of protection

A Penn Yan man is facing another charge after deputies say he continued contacting a protected party from inside the Yates County Jail.

Christopher Castle, 32, was arrested February 14 at approximately 8:31 a.m. at the jail, according to the Yates County Sheriff’s Office.

Deputies say the arrest comes just days after a similar incident that also resulted in Castle being charged.

Correctional officers notified deputies that Castle had continued to contact the protected party through video calls. Deputies investigated and confirmed the violation, according to the sheriff’s office.

Authorities charged Castle with Criminal Contempt in the Second Degree for violating an existing order of protection.

Deputy Green handled the investigation and arrest. Castle received an appearance ticket for a later court date.

A criminal charge is an accusation. Castle is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in court.
