Heart patients in Rochester will soon benefit from a major investment in advanced cardiac care.
Rochester General Hospital has reopened a fully renovated cardiac catheterization lab following a $1.5 million upgrade funded by Rochester Regional Health.
Hospital leaders said the renovation modernized one of the hospital’s most critical cardiac care spaces, replacing aging infrastructure and end-of-life equipment. The upgrade created a more efficient and supportive environment for both patients and care teams.
The hospital’s cardiac teams perform more than 5,600 procedures each year across four catheterization labs. Leaders said the updated space will support safer procedures and increasingly complex cardiac interventions.
“This renovation is about much more than new technology; it’s about investing in the health of our community for decades to come,” said Tammy Snyder, President and COO of Rochester General Hospital. “By upgrading this essential space, we’re ensuring our teams have the tools and environment they need to deliver the highest level of cardiac care, today and into the future.”
Officials said the project reflects a long-term strategy to keep facilities current as patient needs evolve. The renovation also highlights ongoing collaboration between Rochester General Hospital and the Sands Constellation Heart Institute.
Hospital leaders said the partnership supports innovation, clinical excellence, and continuous improvement across cardiovascular care in the region.
Rochester Regional Health said the investment aligns with its broader vision to bring forward-thinking care to patients when and where they need it most.
