A late-night domestic call on North Main Street led police to uncover a burglary and stolen vehicle early Sunday morning.
City of Geneva police arrested Kyle Shorter, 34, after officers responded to a residence around 2 a.m. on February 1 and learned he had forced his way into a former girlfriend’s home.
Police said Shorter kicked in the front door and stole car keys and a cellphone before driving off in the woman’s vehicle. Officers later located Shorter and the stolen car at his residence in the Town of Geneva.
Officers charged Shorter with burglary in the second degree, grand larceny in the fourth degree, and petit larceny. Police noted that Shorter is a convicted felon and was on felony probation at the time of the arrest.
Police transported Shorter to the Geneva Police Department for processing and later to the Ontario County Jail for arraignment.
