Icy road conditions sent a vehicle off the roadway early Wednesday morning in the Town of Covert, sending one driver to the hospital.
Seneca County sheriff’s deputies responded around 4:35 a.m. to a single-vehicle personal injury crash on State Route 96, according to Sheriff Tim Thompson.
Deputies say a northbound vehicle slid off the roadway due to icy and slippery conditions.
The driver and sole occupant, 39-year-old Shawnette Hinds of Ithaca, suffered injuries in the crash.
Her vehicle sustained heavy damage to the passenger side and was towed from the scene by Route 89 Auto.
Bangs Ambulance treated Hinds at the scene before transporting her to Cayuga Medical Center with complaints of a headache and side pain.
Trumansburg Ambulance, Interlaken Fire Department, Ovid Fire Department, and Lodi Fire Department assisted deputies at the scene.
