A Lodi man faces a misdemeanor drug possession charge after state laboratory testing identified a substance found during a July traffic stop as methamphetamine, according to the Seneca County Sheriff's Office.
Deputies arrested the 48-year-old man Thursday at about 8:30 p.m. in the town of Covert, the sheriff's office said in a release.
Deputies said they found a white, rocky or crystalline substance during a traffic stop at about 2 a.m. July 31, and the New York State Crime Laboratory later tested it positive for methamphetamine.
The man, Steven Mayo, was issued an appearance ticket on a seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance charge and is due in Covert Town Court on Oct. 9, the sheriff's office said.
