Joe Brady has made his first big move as head coach of the Buffalo Bills.
NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport reported Friday morning that Buffalo has agreed to terms with Pete Carmichael Jr. to become the team’s new offensive coordinator.
Carmichael, 54, most recently served as a senior offensive assistant with the Denver Broncos. His arrival brings a strong prior connection with Brady. The two previously worked together with the New Orleans Saints, where Brady was an offensive assistant during the 2017 and 2018 seasons while Carmichael ran the New Orleans Saints offense. That shared background played a role in the reunion in Buffalo.
While Carmichael will help shape Buffalo’s offensive approach, he will not take over play-calling duties. Brady has already confirmed he will continue to call plays, keeping continuity in the Bills’ offensive structure heading into the upcoming season.
