A massive tech partnership promises billions in investment and thousands of U.S. jobs, according to WETM.
Corning Inc. and Meta announced a long-term agreement worth up to $6 billion to accelerate construction of Meta’s U.S. data centers. Corning will supply advanced optical fiber, cable, and connectivity products built for large-scale AI facilities.
The deal includes a new optical cable manufacturing plant in Hickory, North Carolina, and expanded production statewide. Corning says the agreement will boost its North Carolina workforce by 15–20% and help sustain more than 5,000 high-skilled jobs.
