Police arrested a man after responding to a complaint about a severely malnourished dog in Seneca Falls.
Officers arrested William P. Mcdermott, 55, of Seneca Falls at 7:13 p.m. Jan. 21 following the investigation.
Police say the dog left in Mcdermott’s care became extremely emaciated and was in very poor condition. Investigators allege the animal did not receive proper food or care.
Mcdermott faces one count of Agriculture and Markets Law — Overdriving, Torturing, and Injuring Animals: Failure to Provide Proper Sustenance.
The dog is now safe and receiving veterinarian care, police said.
