The Wayne County Board of Supervisors is scheduled to meet Tuesday morning with a full agenda that includes a public hearing on county officer salaries, multiple contract and budget actions, and several public safety and infrastructure proposals.
The board will convene at 9 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 20, at the Wayne County Historic Court House, 26 Church St. in Lyons, according to the meeting agenda.
A public hearing is set for 9:05 a.m. on a proposed local law providing changes in the salaries of certain county officers during their terms of office for 2026. The same local law later appears on the agenda for possible adoption.
Supervisors are also scheduled to receive a presentation on town flags and will open the floor for public comment before turning to committee business.
Among items on the Finance Committee agenda are resolutions authorizing additional payments and contract amendments with Catapult Executive Consulting related to the county’s compensation study, extending a contract with Bonadio & Co. LLP for accounting standards assistance, and authorizing the first deputy county treasurer to be paid the treasurer’s salary while that office remains vacant. The committee will also consider measures involving bank account reporting requirements, software support for tax collection, and reappointments to the Wayne County Regional Land Bank Board of Directors.
Public safety matters include a proposal to release a request for proposals for a countywide public safety radio system upgrade, agreements and budget amendments related to EMS equipment and training, and authorizations to apply for or accept multiple state and federal public safety grants. Supervisors are also scheduled to set a future public hearing date on a proposed local law affecting residency requirements for certain sheriff’s office and corrections positions.
The Public Works Committee agenda features several infrastructure-related items, including awarding contracts for a highway department bathroom and breakroom renovation project, establishing a county campus resiliency and microgrid capital project, entering into intermunicipal and state agreements, and closing out completed highway projects.
Additional committee business spans economic development, government operations, health and medical services, and human services. Items include board appointments, budget amendments, policy adoptions, labor and insurance actions, public health contracts, nursing home expenditures, transit agreements, and seasonal hiring for county facilities.
The agenda also lists announcements and sets the next regular meeting of the Board of Supervisors for Thursday, Feb. 19, at 9 a.m. in the Supervisors Chambers.
