A routine traffic stop in Lyons ended with a Newark man facing a criminal weapon charge.
Shawn P. Carney, 41, of Willow Avenue in the Village of Newark was arrested after Wayne County sheriff’s deputies stopped a vehicle on State Route 31 in the Town of Lyons around 3 p.m. Jan. 17.
Deputies said the arrest followed an investigation into a traffic offense.

Carney was processed and released on an appearance ticket. He is scheduled to appear in Lyons Town Court at a later date to answer the charge.
