Nonprofits across upstate New York can now apply for new funding aimed at closing health gaps in their communities.
Excellus BlueCross BlueShield opened applications Wednesday for its 2026 Health Equity Innovation Awards. The program supports community-based projects that reduce health disparities and improve outcomes.
The awards are open to eligible 501(c)(3) nonprofit organizations located within the Excellus BCBS service area. Applications must be submitted online through ExcellusBCBS.com.
The application window runs from Jan. 14 at 10 a.m. through March 6 at 11:59 p.m.
Funding priorities include managing chronic conditions, improving maternal health, supporting mental and behavioral health, and addressing social determinants of health.
Excellus says it will focus on programs that show measurable impact and innovation. That includes new approaches, the use of technology, or strong community partnerships.
Full application details and requirements are available on the Excellus BCBS website.
