A woman once charged in her infant son’s 2024 death is now serving jail time for violating probation, according to WETM. Samantha Crane, 36, was sentenced to one year in county jail for each of three violations — to be served concurrently.
Crane had been on probation for DWI, welfare fraud, and negligent homicide. Prosecutors say she abused prescription meds and refused drug court, despite evidence linking her substance abuse to the child’s death.
Her probation has been terminated, meaning she’ll face no supervision once released.
