Knife threat leads to Locke arrest

Deputies arrested a Locke man following a reported domestic incident involving weapons.

James R. Roundy III, 22, was charged with fourth-degree criminal possession of a weapon and third-degree menacing after deputies responded to a home in the Town of Locke on Jan. 7.

According to the sheriff’s office, Roundy pushed a female victim off a bed, then stood over her holding a knife while threatening to kill her. Deputies said he later obtained a sword and damaged multiple items inside the home.

Roundy was processed at the Public Safety Building and taken to Cayuga County Jail for centralized arraignment. He was released on his own recognizance and is scheduled to appear in Locke Town Court on Jan. 21.
