RIT dance director to headline Geneva MLK event

A nationally recognized artist and educator will lead Geneva’s annual Martin Luther King Jr. celebration this month, according to the Finger Lakes Times.

Organizers named Thomas Warfield, director of dance at Rochester Institute of Technology, as the keynote speaker for the 55th annual MLK March and Memorial Service on Jan. 19. The event begins with a morning gathering at Bicentennial Park, followed by the march and a service at St. John’s Chapel on the Hobart and William Smith Colleges campus.

Warfield, a Rochester native, brings decades of global performance, teaching, and arts advocacy experience. Organizers will also announce winners of the 2026 MLK Art and Poetry Contest.
