Cats in the Finger Lakes now have a high-end vacation spot of their own, according to The Citizen.
The King Ferry Cat Retreat opened in November in southern Cayuga County, offering short- and long-term boarding with private suites, balconies, TVs, and handmade climbing towers. Owner Paula Larsen said she wanted a calm, home-like alternative to traditional kennels.
The retreat features seven rooms, including premium suites for multiple cats from the same household. Larsen says the business was built with new state pet-boarding regulations in mind, which took effect in December, and aims to exceed required standards.
