One injured in Route 90 crash in King Ferry

Emergency crews responded to a single-vehicle crash involving a utility pole Tuesday morning in the Town of Genoa.

Cayuga County 911 dispatched Genoa Rescue just after 7:30 a.m. for a one-car motor vehicle accident with possible injuries on State Route 90 in King Ferry’s fire district.

Genoa Fire officials said the vehicle struck a pole and the lone occupant was able to self-extricate before crews arrived. Responders confirmed the impact knocked all three primary electrical wires off their insulators, raising immediate concerns about electrical hazards.

Crews secured the scene and requested NYSEG to respond while assisting with patient care and stabilizing the vehicle.

Genoa units were assisted on scene by King Ferry Fire Department, Southern Cayuga Instant Aid, Aurora Volunteer Fire Department Ambulance, the Cayuga County Sheriff’s Office, and New York State Police.

No further details on the occupant’s condition were released.
