King Ferry man arrested after missing juvenile case in Wayne County

Deputies arrested a King Ferry man after an investigation into a missing juvenile case that began in early December, the Wayne County Sheriff’s Office said.

Deputies charged 19-year-old Calvin D. White of State Route 91 in King Ferry with obstructing governmental administration in the second degree.

The Sheriff’s Office said the charge stems from a Dec. 2 report of a missing juvenile believed to be near a residence where White claimed he lived.

Investigators said White intentionally withheld crucial information and provided false details during the investigation. Deputies said that misinformation prevented them from locating the juvenile.

Authorities later discovered the juvenile was inside the apartment White claimed he resided at and that he had full knowledge of her location.

Deputies located the juvenile safely and immediately turned her over to her parents, according to the Sheriff’s Office.

White was processed at the Wayne County Jail and issued an appearance ticket. He is scheduled to appear in Wolcott Village Court on Feb. 5.
