Republicans will gather on Long Island next month to shape New York’s 2026 ballot, according to Spectrum News 1.
The New York State Republican Committee announced its statewide nominating convention will run Feb. 9–11 at the Garden City Hotel in Garden City. Party leaders plan to nominate candidates for governor and other statewide offices as they try to loosen Democrats’ grip on state government.
The event lands in home territory for Bruce Blakeman, seen as the GOP frontrunner for governor. The 2026 race also marks the first time gubernatorial candidates will run on a joint ticket with their lieutenant governor pick.
