Driving with snow on your windshield could land New Yorkers with a misdemeanor, according to WETM. State law doesn’t require you to clear your car — but if snow blocks your view, it’s considered reckless driving.
Offenders could face fines up to $850, license points, and even jail time. Police can pull over any driver whose vision is obstructed by snow.
Even without a traffic stop, officials warn it’s dangerous. Blinded drivers are more likely to crash, especially in snowy conditions.
