A shoplifting investigation at an Auburn pharmacy led police to arrest two people on felony and misdemeanor charges.
Auburn police arrested William R. Butler, 47, and Lindsey M. Bennett, 43, on Dec. 23 on outstanding warrants tied to an incident at Kinney Drugs on Owasco Street.
Police said the incident happened Sept. 19 at the Kinney Drugs at 62 Owasco St. Investigators allege the pair went into the store and purchased merchandise using a stolen credit card.
According to police, Butler bought about $110.45 worth of items, while Bennett purchased about $262.44 worth of merchandise. Authorities said all of the items were paid for with the stolen card.
Both were charged with criminal possession of stolen property in the fourth degree, a felony, and petit larceny, a misdemeanor.
Police processed Butler and Bennett and transported them to the Cayuga County Jail for centralized arraignment proceedings.
