Livingston County is looking to recognize local teens who are making a difference in their communities.
The Livingston County Youth Bureau is now accepting nominations for the 2026 Livingston County Teen Recognition Awards.
The annual awards, sponsored by the Livingston County Board of Supervisors, honor teens from each of the county’s 17 towns. Officials say honorees show leadership, help improve their communities, or overcome personal challenges.
“The Livingston County Teen Recognition Awards are a chance to highlight the incredible youth in our community,” said Youth Bureau Deputy Director Mary Guldenschuh. She said the awards recognize empathy, kindness, and helpfulness shown in both big and small ways.
The Youth Bureau encourages educators, youth organizations, neighbors, and community members to submit nominations.
Teens must be 15 years old by Feb. 6 to be eligible. Youth can be nominated while they are in school and up until they graduate from high school.
Nomination forms are available on the Youth Bureau website. Community members can also nominate a teen by calling 585-243-6909.
Livingston County officials first launched the Teen Recognition Awards in 1995. Since then, the program has honored more than 2,000 local youth.
The county will host a celebration banquet in the spring to honor this year’s recipients. The event will include guest speakers and a catered dinner for awardees and their families.
Nominations are open through Feb. 6.
