Police respond to shooting scare in Macedon

Macedon police say a disturbance call that initially sounded like an active shooting turned out to be an isolated situation with no threat to the public.

Officers responded around 7:02 a.m. on Dec. 24 after a 911 caller reported someone was shooting at them in the area of Quaker and Walworth Roads.

Police arrived quickly and secured the scene. After interviewing those involved and completing a thorough investigation, they confirmed there were no injuries and no ongoing danger to the neighborhood.

The Macedon Police Department says the investigation is still active and involves assistance from the Wayne County Sheriff’s Office, New York State Police, Palmyra Police Department, New York DEC, and the Wayne County District Attorney’s Office.
