Traffic stop leads to DWI arrest in Tyre

A late-night traffic stop in the Town of Tyre ended with a driving while intoxicated arrest after deputies spotted a vehicle with a faulty taillight.

Seneca County Sheriff’s deputies arrested Haris Sefo, 25, of Rochester, around 11:30 p.m. Dec. 12 following the stop. Investigators say the arrest stemmed from signs of intoxication during the encounter.

According to the Sheriff’s Office, deputies stopped Sefo’s vehicle after noticing a non-functioning taillight. A subsequent investigation determined Sefo was operating the vehicle while intoxicated.

Authorities report Sefo had a blood alcohol content of .15 percent at the time of his arrest. Deputies charged him with driving while intoxicated, a misdemeanor.

Sefo is scheduled to reappear in Town of Tyre Court on Jan. 27 at 5 p.m.
