Deputies charged a man after a head-on crash in Ontario led to a DWI investigation.
Andrew T. VanEtten, 29, of Bear Creek Drive, was arrested after deputies said he caused the crash by failing to yield the right of way at the intersection of Route 104 and Knickerbocker Road.
The Wayne County Sheriff’s Office said VanEtten showed signs of intoxication at the scene and failed multiple field sobriety tests. He was taken to the Sheriff’s Office for processing, where he refused to take a chemical breath test.
No one was hurt in the two-car collision, according to the report.
VanEtten was taken to the Wayne County Jail to await centralized arraignment, scheduled for 7 a.m. on December 9.
