A Honduran national has been sentenced after pleading guilty to illegally reentering the United States following a prior deportation.
Federal prosecutors say Ever Josue Erazo-Lopez, 30, was sentenced to time served on Dec. 2 after appearing before U.S. District Judge Meredith A. Vacca in Rochester. He was immediately transferred to Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) custody for removal proceedings.
According to the U.S. Attorney’s Office, Erazo-Lopez was deported from the U.S. in July 2019. He reentered illegally and was taken into custody on September 27, 2025, by the Brighton Police Department following a suspected drunk driving incident.
Assistant U.S. Attorney Nicholas M. Testani stated that Erazo-Lopez had no legal immigration status at the time of his arrest.
The case was prosecuted under Operation Take Back America, a federal initiative aimed at combating illegal immigration, dismantling transnational criminal organizations, and preventing violent crime.
The investigation was led by U.S. Border Patrol, with support from Acting Chief Patrol Agent James D’Amato’s team.
