Ithaca’s ‘Hive’ housing project gets approval

A long-delayed housing project on Ithaca’s West End just cleared a major hurdle, according to The Ithaca Voice.

The city’s Planning Board approved “The Hive,” a mixed-income development at 132 Cherry St. Plans now include 148 units, up from 143, with a shift toward low- and moderate-income housing and updated designs to address new flood maps.

Developers will keep retail space while adjusting building layouts and amenities. Board members signed off unanimously, clearing the way for potential state funding and moving the project closer to construction.
