Seneca Falls Police kick off 10th annual toy drive

The Seneca Falls Police Department is bringing back its holiday tradition — and inviting the community to help make the season brighter for local families.

Now in its 10th year, the department’s “Fill the Cruiser” Toy Drive is underway, collecting new, unused, and unwrapped toys for children in need. Donations are being accepted at several locations across town through Friday, December 13.

This year’s toy drive will wrap up with a community event on Saturday, December 13, from 10 a.m. to noon, at the corner of Fall Street and Cayuga Street. Police cruisers will be parked downtown and ready to be filled with gifts.

Donations can be dropped off now through the deadline at these locations:

  • Seneca Falls Police Department
  • Generations Bank (Cayuga Street)
  • Tractor Supply Co., Liberty Plaza
  • Century 21
  • Wal-Mart, Seneca Falls
  • Seneca Falls Historical Society
  • Splash Car Wash

The drive is part of a larger effort to help children and families who might be struggling this holiday season. Organizers say every toy collected goes directly to kids in the local community.

The event is held in collaboration with several area businesses and organizations, including the It’s a Wonderful Life Festival, Wilson Press, Child Advocacy Center of the Finger Lakes, Generations Bank, Walmart, and more.

“Help give to local families in need” is the message on this year’s flyer — and for the past decade, Seneca Falls residents have done just that.
