Wayne County renames building for longtime sheriff

Wayne County has renamed its Public Safety Building in Lyons to honor retired Sheriff Richard J. Pisciotti, News10NBC reports.

Pisciotti served as sheriff for 27 years and was recognized during a Monday ceremony attended by local law enforcement and state leaders. He called the tribute deeply moving and credited his former staff and county residents for his success.

Officials hope the renamed building inspires future public servants to uphold his legacy.
