A man was pulled from a sinking boat Saturday after hitting rocks on Oneida Lake near Sylvan Beach, according to WSYR.
Rescue crews say the man struck a rock pile while trying to return to the Erie Canal. High winds and four-foot waves pushed his boat into a rocky breakwater, damaging it beyond control. A four-person water rescue team arrived just in time to save him.
Medics cleared the man on scene, and a tow company is working to recover the wrecked boat.
