Driver arrested after road rage incident on I-787

A Troy man is facing charges after allegedly throwing an object that shattered another driver’s rear windshield during a road rage incident on I-787.

State Police say 25-year-old Juan J. Lopez Munoz was arrested Nov. 12 after turning himself in at the Latham barracks. The incident happened earlier that morning, around 8:29 a.m., while both vehicles were heading south near Henry Johnson Boulevard.

According to investigators, Lopez Munoz threw something from his vehicle that struck the back of the victim’s car, causing over $250 in damage. He then drove off while the victim pulled over and called 911.

Troopers charged Lopez Munoz with third-degree criminal mischief and several vehicle and traffic violations. He was released with an appearance ticket and is due in Colonie Town Court on Dec. 3.
