A lucky Powerball player in Canandaigua is waking up $50,000 richer after scoring a third-place prize in the November 8 drawing.
The winning ticket was sold at the Speedway on Lake Shore Road, according to the New York Lottery. Three other tickets worth the same amount were sold in Brooklyn, Huntington Station, and Ronkonkoma.
Powerball numbers are drawn three times a week—Monday, Wednesday, and Saturday—with players picking five numbers from 1 to 69, plus a red Powerball from 1 to 26.
Winners have up to a year to claim their prize.
