Yates County deputies launch toy drive to brighten holidays for local kids

The holiday spirit is alive in Yates County as law enforcement officers kick off the annual Cops Kids Toys Campaign — an effort to bring joy to children in need across the community.

Organized by the Yates County Law Enforcement Officers Union Council 82, Local 1869, the campaign is collecting new, unopened toys for local families ahead of Christmas.

All donations will be matched by law enforcement members and delivered directly to families’ homes by Deputy Sheriffs before the holiday. Volunteers will help wrap the gifts, ensuring every child receives something special this season.

“This campaign is about more than gifts,” organizers said. “It’s about showing kids and families that their community cares.”

Where to donate

Toys can be dropped off at the following locations:

  • Friendly Dodge
  • Community Bank
  • Eaves Dental
  • Yates County Sheriff’s Office
  • Yates County Office Building
  • Yates County Community Center

Donations will be accepted until Wednesday, December 10, 2025.

Every contribution stays local and supports Yates County families in need. Whether big or small, each gift helps make the holidays a little brighter for children across the county.
