The Ontario County Courthouse will glow green this week as part of a national effort to honor military veterans.
Sheriff’s deputies joined local officials Monday night for a lighting ceremony kicking off Operation Green Light — a campaign aimed at showing visible support for those who have served in the U.S. Armed Forces.
From November 4 through Veterans Day on November 11, the courthouse will stay lit in green as a symbol of gratitude.
Residents and business owners are encouraged to join in by displaying green lights outside their homes or storefronts.
“Take a moment this week to thank a veteran,” the sheriff’s office wrote in a statement, “for all they’ve done for our community and our country.”
