The Buffalo Bills extended their regular-season dominance over Kansas City, holding off the Chiefs for a 28–21 victory Sunday evening at Highmark Stadium. With the win, Buffalo improved to 6–2 while Kansas City dropped to 5-4.
James Cook powered the ground attack with 114 yards, while Josh Allen delivered one of his sharpest performances of the season. Allen was nearly flawless, connecting on 23-of-26 passes for 273 yards and a touchdown and adding two short rushing scores. It marked his second consecutive game without an interception as Buffalo’s offense finally found its rhythm.
Dalton Kincaid played a key role through the air, catching a touchdown and breaking free for a 47-yard gain that set up another score. He finished with six catches for a team-high 101 yards. Ty Johnson also found the end zone, his first of the year, while Khalil Shakir notched a team-high seven receptions.
Buffalo’s defense hounded Patrick Mahomes from start to finish, holding him to the lowest completion rate of his career. Rookie corner Maxwell Hairston helped seal the win with his first career interception in the fourth quarter, capping a strong effort by the Bills’ defense. Safety Cole Bishop filled the stat sheet with seven tackles, a tackle for loss, and four pass breakups. Joey Bosa and Christian Benford each recorded a sack, while Michael Hoecht and Greg Rousseau combined for another. Hoecht’s night ended prematurely, and head coach Sean McDermott confirmed after the game that the defensive lineman suffered a torn Achilles.
The Bills have defeated Kansas City in five straight regular-season meetings, but are 0-4 in playoff matchups dating to the 2020 postseason, including last season’s AFC title game.
